The Financial and Housing Recovery Center has rolled out a new initiative to help San Antonio homes impacted by the ongoing spread and fallout of COVID-19.
The city announced on July 2 it is working with several federal and state entities to help provide resources like utility and rent/mortgage assistance, food assistance, and Medicaid and unemployment insurance enrollment. Financial counseling, pro bono legal help, and homeless services counseling are also available through the city’s new program. Small businesses can also benefit from resource facilities, grants and outreach programs.
“The Financial and Housing Recovery Center will play a critical role in meeting the goals set forth in our Community Recovery and Resiliency Plan by helping to connect residents who have been most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic to services and programs,” City Manager Erik Walsh said. "By coming together to address these challenges, we will be able to get through this unprecedented time and come out stronger than before."
Locals can benefit from services and resources via phone or even video chat as social distancing guidelines are still in place. Face-to-face appointments are also available.
The new services began on July 1 and can be found online at or by calling 210-207-5910.
