SAN ANTONIO (March 21, 2024) – Today, during the San Antonio City Council session, Councilman Whyte conveyed his enthusiastic support for enhancing the Council Consideration Request (CCR) Process. The collaborative effort, initially introduced in August 2023 by the Councilman and Mayor Ron Nirenberg, received the Council’s endorsement with an 8-3 vote.

Expressing his satisfaction with the progress, Councilman Whyte stated, "This has been a long time coming." He emphasized the importance of improving the CCR process, which has remained largely unchanged for over 15 years. He acknowledged the community's demand for clarity to ensure their interests are effectively recognized.

"I am delighted to witness the passage of this ordinance, and I extend my gratitude to my colleagues and the City Clerk’s office for recognizing its importance to our municipal government," Councilman Whyte expressed his appreciation. He emphasized the role of Council Consideration Requests as catalysts for change in communities, stressing the significance of involving constituents at every stage of the process.

The approved improvements to the CCR process are set to play a pivotal role in enhancing the governance and decision-making processes within the San Antonio municipal government. The Councilman's celebration of the successful endorsement underscores the commitment to transparency and community engagement in local governance.
