San Antonio's District 3 voters have approved a $3 million project to help address the connectivity needs of its government offices and the community.
“The Southside continues to flourish and attract new residents and employees at a rapid rate,” District 3 Councilwoman Rebecca Viagran said. “This project will not only improve connectivity today but will also help us to address future mobility needs as we continue to add jobs and housing.”
The district is now beginning its second road extension project for 2020. The project will connect Inner Circle Road with Research Plaza to create a half-circle loop on the growing campus.
“Improving connectivity and traffic mobility continues to be one of our top priorities,” Brooks President and CEO Leo Gomez said. “Infrastructure improvements like roadway extensions help us to plan for what we know the future will look like on our 1,308-acre campus. Our region is expected to support more than 17,000 jobs by 2040 – we are doing what we can now to ensure those employees will have a direct route to and from work every day.”
