San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department officials have announced that the annual park curfew will be lifted at selected City parks for the Easter holiday. The curfew will be lifted starting at 11 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, and will resume at 11 p.m. on Easter Sunday, March 31. This decision allows for overnight camping at specific City parks during this period.

Overnight camping will be permitted at various City Parks, including Brackenridge Park, McAllister Park, MLK Park, Roosevelt Park, San Pedro Springs Park, O.P. Schnabel Park, Southside Lions Park, Southside Lions Park East, and Woodlawn Lake Park. Patrons are advised to bring trash bags and remove their trash at the end of their stay in the park. Recycling opportunities will be promoted at the parks, and visitors are reminded to use recycling bins for plastic bottles and cans while refraining from bringing glass containers into the parks.

Director of Parks and Recreation, Homer Garcia III, expressed enthusiasm for the Easter camping tradition, stating, "Our city’s Easter camping tradition is like none other, and we’re excited to welcome families, friends, and neighbors to select parks over the holiday weekend." He further encouraged visitors to maintain the cleanliness of the parks by properly disposing of litter and recyclables, emphasizing the importance of packing out whatever is brought into the park.

For more information on the City's curfew lift and regulations regarding Easter camping at the designated parks, individuals are encouraged to visit SAParksandRec.com.

The curfew lift and permission for overnight camping at selected parks provide an opportunity for residents and visitors to enjoy the holiday weekend outdoors while adhering to the guidelines set by the San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department.
