The San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting the Heart and Sole 5K & Fun Run at Lady Bird Johnson Park on Saturday, February 10. This event is a part of the Get Fit SA initiative and aims to promote fitness and overall well-being in the community.
Nikki Ramos, Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation, encourages individuals of all fitness levels to participate in the event. She states, "Whether you’re just starting your fitness journey or looking to stay active, we have fitness opportunities for everyone." The department hopes to see runners and walkers of all ages come out to LBJ Park to celebrate American Heart Month.
Participants in the 5K will receive a free t-shirt, while supplies last. The event will also feature a Zumba warm-up, a 1-mile Fun Run, a healthy vendor fair, mobile health screenings provided by the Mobile Fit van, and post-event stretching.
The Heart & Sole 5K is a great way for families to engage in physical activity together. It is a free event that promotes the importance of staying active and taking care of our hearts.
