SAN ANTONIO (January 11, 2024) - The Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. March, a significant event in San Antonio, is set to take place on Monday, January 15th, 2024, in honor of King's actual birthday. Despite the predicted cold weather, organizers are determined to press on, inspired by the resilience demonstrated by King and other civil rights heroes and heroines.

Dwayne Robison, Chair of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission, expressed his excitement about the upcoming march, stating, "To all San Antonio and Bexar County residents, as well as our special guests from around the country, we are excited to announce the Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. March, will be held on Monday, January 15th, 2024 – King's actual birthday."

In light of the expected cold temperatures, the Commission is urging participants to take precautions to stay warm. Some guidelines have been provided to ensure the well-being of all attendees. Robison emphasized the importance of these measures, saying, "We urge everyone to take care, be smart, and stay warm."

The guidelines include dressing in layers, wrapping up well when going outside, avoiding breezes and drafts indoors, eating nutritious food, wearing warm clothes, donning a warm hat, and consuming hot foods and warm drinks throughout the day.

The march is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m., with participants assembling at 9 a.m. at the Martin Luther King Jr. Academy, located at 3501 Martin Luther King Dr., 78203.
