Red

University of Incarnate Word issued the following announcement.

The University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) is proud to present the 17th Annual Red Dress Fashion Show & Health Fair, Tuesday, Feb. 11

Join us from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the UIW Student Engagement Center (SEC) for a celebration of living fashionably healthy. Find health and wellness information, demonstrations, informal screenings and tips provided by representatives from UIW’s professional health programs, including nursing, optometry, physical therapy and pharmacy. Representatives from the nutrition program will highlight healthy diet options; and students from the education programs will showcase their work in health education. Plus, grab a healthy bite, while supplies last!

Shop for unique and charming gifts just in time for Valentine’s Day at local vendor booths. Find handmade crafts, beauty and accessories, and art works, to name a few. Be sure to grab a ticket at the door for your chance to win a special door prize.

The highlight of the event will take place at 12 p.m. as the Red Dress Fashion Show begins in the SEC Ballroom. See the future of fashion as red haute garments created by students of UIW’s fashion department and more than a dozen San Antonio-area high schools will take the runway. Winning designs from students at the high school and university levels will receive special recognition.

The annual Red Dress Fashion Show & Health Fair supports the American Heart Association (AHA) and their Go Red campaign during National Heart Month in February. The event is free and open to the public.
