South San Antonio Independent School District issued the following announcement.
Students from the South San Antonio Independent School District schools paid tribute to the district's board members Wednesday during a special ceremony.
This year's School Board Appreciation theme was "Launching the Next Generation." Giant student-made posters lined the auditorium with special messages for the trustees and the board room displayed decorated rockets with additional kudos for the members.
A variety of student performances including dancing, singing, mariachi ensembles and cheer teams entertained the seven trustees as their way of giving thanks for the board's efforts for each campus and students.
A digital montage of the district's students saying "Thank You" was also presented to the trustees, with each board member's contribution to the district and the South side community highlighted. The ceremony concluded with a presentation of gift bags containing presents from each of the district's school.
