Councilmembers Ric Galvan of District 6 and Edward Mungia of District 4 visited Guajolote Ranch to learn more about a proposed development and to evaluate its possible effects on the region’s water supply and environment.

During their visit, the councilmembers walked the site, examined the land’s features, and met with community advocates and environmental groups. The discussions focused on concerns about water quality, infrastructure needs, and ecological risks.

“Growth must be done in a sustainable manner that prioritizes water first,” said Councilmember Galvan. “We cannot sacrifice our natural resources or the health of our residents for short-term gains. Protecting our water means protecting our future.”

Councilmember Mungia added, “My constituents in District 4, and all San Antonians, deserve a transparent process that addresses the real and present threats to our water. The Guajolote Ranch visit has reinforced that we must work collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure that any development does not compromise the environmental health of our region.”

Both councilmembers thanked residents and advocates for their continued involvement in environmental protection efforts. They emphasized a commitment to transparency, community engagement, and growth that supports all residents of San Antonio.
