Schools in Medina County enrolled the 56th highest number of students classified as economically disadvantaged among counties in the state during the 2023-24 school year, according to the Texas Education Agency.
For the 2023-24 school year, D’Hanis Independent School District experienced a decrease in enrollment numbers compared to the previous year, with six fewer students being enrolled.

There were 1,984 students enrolled in Devine Independent School District in the 2023-24 school year, a decrease from the previous year.
There were 8,700 students enrolled in Medina Valley Independent School District in the 2023-24 school year, an increase over the previous year.
For the 2023-24 school year, Medina Valley High School reported the largest enrollment among Medina County schools.
Of the 273 students at D’Hanis School in D’hanis, 193 (71%) weren’t on the academic track to qualify for college in the 2023-24 school year, according to South San Antonio News’ analysis of test scores from the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
